Miller & Associates is a wholly owned Afro-American, Sole Proprietorship based in Oakland, California. The firm originally started in 1983 as primarily a Construction company specializing in residential, light commercial, tenant improvement, fast food restaurants, historical restoration projects and health care projects. In 1990, Terrell Miller and  Ken Simmons founded the architectural firm, Miller - Simmons Design Group. Although the firm continued, in 1995, the Principal took a leave from the firm to become Director of Architecture at the Oakland Unified School District and later became Director of Facilities, Maintenance, Operations and Transportation at the Inglewood Unified School District, and after that he became Director of Facilities Development for the San Ramon Unified School District. In 2003, the original firm of Miller & Associates was re-etablished in its currently configuration providing Architectural, Project Management and Construction Management Services.
